Research Publications
The CEO Biennial Research Symposium seeks to assist outdoor educators in advancing the philosophical, theoretical, and empirical bases of outdoor education. Guided by an outstanding group of outdoor education researchers, the CEO Research Committee enables scholars to present their work to one another and others through the publication Research in Outdoor Education. The Symposium also fosters conversation and builds a sense of community among researchers by providing a forum to address areas of new or ongoing concern to researchers and scholars in outdoor education.
High standards are employed in selecting papers for presentation at the biennial symposia and for publication in Research in Outdoor Education. Papers selected for each symposium (see Abstracts from… Research Symposium) go through a blind-peer review process as do final papers chosen for inclusion in Research in Outdoor Education following the symposium.
These publications (often 100 pages plus) contain the latest research on outdoor education presented at the Coalition’s biennial symposia. Copies of the publications are a benefit of membership. Bound copies of past symposia publications may be purchased for $18 each, including shipping and handling. Online downloadable versions are presently being prepared and will be available to the public by November, 2008.
